What is “HERO Month?”
Hey…it’s July, and it’s HERO month here at CrossFit Sweat Angel. During this time, we reflect on the freedom we have in this country, by honoring those who have fought for us so we can have the liberties we have.
What is a HERO? According to Google, its a “person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” When you stop to think about this definition, a lot of people may come to mind…a mom, dad, teacher, coach, sibling, etc. In CrossFit, the word hero represents someone who is brave and selfless, such as a member of our military branches and law enforcement agencies.
CrossFit Hero WODs are some of the most extreme workouts, that are intended to be performed with intense effort, in honor of our fallen Heroes. During this time, your mind and body goes to that “dark place,” but the mere thought of what this hero went through for our freedom, pushes you through to completion .
At Sweat Angel, we dedicate the month of July to these heroes, by performing a “Hero WOD” each day. We challenge you to challenge yourself to complete as many HERO workouts this month as you can. The goal we are setting is 17…can you rise to the challenge?
To help you track your progress and reach your goal, one of our dedicated members, Eric Rager, has designed this HERO WOD Tracker to keep you in check. Use the link below to add your name and get started!…#beasweatangel
